# GHK-Cu bibliography

> Reading list | Derma Glow Aesthetics — The Derma Glow Aesthetics reading list: GHK-Cu collagen cultures, human skin penetration and reviews of topical and gene-expression findings.

**The reading list**

The culture experiment and the skin-penetration work are my starting points; the reviews widen the picture.

## Culture and penetration experiments

[Maquart and colleagues' collagen-synthesis experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3169264/) is the starting point for the [collagen essay](/collagen). It deals with human fibroblast cultures. [Hostynek and colleagues' skin-layer study](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3016279/) supplies the copper penetration and retention observations in the [skin-barrier investigation](/skin-barrier); its human skin samples were studied outside the body.

## Topical findings and tissue remodeling

The [topical anti-wrinkle review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11830136/) supplies the procollagen comparison and the delivery discussion. The [skin-regeneration review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4508379/) brings together the facial and matrix-synthesis findings. The broader [tissue-remodeling review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18644225/) describes repair-related processes across multiple models, including human and animal work.

## Gene activity

The [gene-data review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6073405/) is relevant to the gene-expression detour in the [facial-studies essay](/facial-studies). I place more weight on its stated thresholds than on the largest shorthand number attached to it. Its database and cell-culture context matters throughout that discussion.
